TRAINING
We′ve all benefited from being trained at some point in our lives- on the sports field, in the classroom or when we joined a new business. Having a trainer with the right knowledge and skills, and the ability to transfer them to ourselves, is absolutely essential.
At Blue Bamboo, we take our training seriously. Before we start, we’ll carry out a thorough assessment of where training, as distinct from coaching or mentoring, will be most appropriate and useful.
Then we’ll work with line managers to qualify who will attend and why, by linking training objectives with Company and individual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) goals. We’ll ensure the training is relevant and appropriate and agree what and how we report back to managers.
Going further, we will help every delegate prepare with a pre-training telephone conversation or face-to-face meeting.
As with Coaching, we are passionate about demonstrating the benefits that can be measured. Often, this means partnering a client’s business for an extended period, because it is in the way individuals behave back in the workplace that positive change in attitudes, skills and competence can be measured. It is a fundamental aspect of Blue Bamboo’s commitment to its clients that new learning is embedded into new practices.
As an overview, the Blue Bamboo Training process is:
Step 1: initial performance diagnostic
Step 2: agree general focus & specific desired outcomes of the training; agree reporting & evaluation criteria
Step 3: ′contract′ with each delegate (pre-qualify & set expectations; cross-reference current CPD′s & relevant performance metrics)
Step 4: delivery of training module(s)
Step 5: evaluation of training against agreed outcomes
Step 6: integrate new learnings into practice via coaching and/or mentoring
Step 7: review performance improvement via measurements and timescales with client
Step 8: align future learning options with CPD and business plans and line manager′s aims
